Dog Training With Brenda Shepard
Brenda Shepard has over 32 years dog training experience. She is an active competitor in conformation, agility, field trials and herding. At the young age of 8, she put championship titles on 2 dogs. Her love and skill of training learned from her parents who were both serious competitors and dog breeders. By the age of 12, she won Jr. Best Handler title many times. She was mentored under top AKC obedience Judges and trainers. She has personally finished many championship titles on numerous dogs of various breeds. She obtained a MACH 5 title (Master Agility Championship 5 times) on one of her own dogs. In addition she has finished numerous obedience and herding titles on dogs of all breeds. Brenda now works at A Pet Villa.

Personal Dog Training Service
Our basic approach is to make the learning experience as positive as possible.
Whether you want to train your dog to just sit or stay to learn some mannerism, or whether you want to work on some other issues; such as "no jumping" or "settle" we can work on these elements on a daily basis while your dog is boarding with us. We can work with your dog either once or twice per day depending on your desire.
Training Suzie Example
Suzie is a young 6 month old poodle. Suzie is being trained to Sit, go Down and Come when called. We also worked on her to prevent her from jumping on people. This is a tough thing for a small poodle. We reinforce the positive behavior through treats, as Suzie is food motivated.

Training Gretchen Example
Gretchen is a 5-year old German Shepherd who was rescued. While she is sweet, she is very strong-willed and has had no formal training. Gretchen had to learn to pay attention and be mindful. At 90 lbs of stubborness and a life of doing whatever she wanted, it took many days to get Gretchen to follow the pack-leader and to be mindful.
In 2 weeks we worked on Sit, Stay, & Down. Gretchen also has a dog-aggression problem. We tried to introduce her to small dogs to learn that they were not going to hurt her and for her to understand that any lunging or aggression towards small animals was not tolerated.
